WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Furloughed federal workers may be feeling the effects of the partial government shutdown both mentally and financially. However, plenty of local businesses and organizations are working to easy to pain with freebies and discounts for until the shutdown ends.
In terms of the shutdown, here's what is and isn't open across the DC-area, a growing list of resources, programs and seminars and financial tips for furloughed employees on how to manage their budget.
From discounted admission at paid museums, to cheap drinks during happy hour, to free haircuts -- here are the places across the DMV where you can score a deal during this partial government shutdown:
The chain will offer free pizza to government workers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day of the shutdown. The deal was moved from lunchtime after the first week of the shutdown.
Capitol Lounge is offering federal employees with on-theme cocktails for $5. Drinks include: 'Nothing Really Mattis,' 'Mexico Will Pay for This,' and the 'Border Wall Banger.'
Federal workers get 10 percent off with government ID at Across the Pond Restaurant & Pub. This deal is not valid on in-house specials.
City Tap's Happy hour has been extended from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day during the shutdown. Within the happy hour, deals include: $5 select drafts, $6 house wines and $7 beer and a shot combo.
Federal workers can show their federal ID for 10 percent off their order at this spot on The Wharf starting at 11 a.m. every day.
Federal government employees can show the bartender a federal ID during the shutdown for an 18 percent discount. Visit the bar's website for more information.

Firefly is extending happy hour pricing on food and drinks for federal employees to continue throughout dinner service. Also, during weekday lunch service, Firefly will honor a percentage off the entire bill for federal employees that is commensurate with the length of the government shutdown (e.g. 21% off on Day 21, 22% off on Day 22, etc.) through the end of January. Restaurant Week promo would not apply.

Radiator is offering a glass of the Furlough Fix, a complimentary cocktail, to all federal employees during the government shutdown. The team is also bringing back the Burger-Beer-Shot combo for $22, and will donate $2 from each combo to a federal agency affected by the shutdown.

Urbana is offering their popular $10 Pizza + Beer special (margherita pizza and happy hour beer) to all federal employees any time and every day of the week during the government shutdown.
Coppi's Organic is running a special for furloughed workers. Happy hour will be available Monday through Saturday all night in addition to 30% off of meals every Sunday with a valid federal employee ID until the shutdown ends.
Newseum goers can purchase tickets at the Newseum's website. Participants during the shutdown can get a 15 percent discount on tickets.
Take an indoor cycling class at CYCLED! of Silver Spring, or try a cycling, barre or yoga sculpt class at the Takoma Park location. Use the code "SweatItOut@CYCLED!" to sign up, and to show your government ID at check-in.
Furloughed employees are offered a free two-week pass. This Petworth studio is known for 45-minute, high-intensity core-cardio-strength classes. The Sweat Strong class uses higher levels of equipment, more dynamic moves and can offer more of one-on-one attention for participants.
Bikram Yoga Works in Riverdale Park, Ivy City, Takoma Park and Baltimore, is offering free noon classes to furloughed workers until the shutdown ends. Sign up here.
Bishops is offering free haircuts to all government employees affected by the Government Shutdown of 2019. Offer valid with federal government IDs. For first time clients, your haircut is free. Returning clients are eligible for a 25 percent off discount.
Lyft has partnered with United Way to offer "relief rides" in the DMV to workers affected by the furlough. Now through Feb. 2, impacted individuals can contact DC 2-1-1 for a ride code to get two free rides up to $10 per ride code.
The George Mason University athletic department will offer complimentary tickets to men's and women's basketball games for federal employees impacted by the government shutdown. The offer is available for all regular season home men's and women's basketball games during the furlough.
The offer may be redeemed only on the day of the game at the EagleBank Arena box office.
Federal employees are limited to two complimentary tickets per contest and must show a valid government ID. This offer is based on availability.
George Washington is offering tickets to all men's and women's basketball games with a government ID or by calling 202-994-GWTIX.
Howard is offering all federal employees free tickets to both men's and women's games during the government shutdown. Just present your government ID to the box office on game day. The offer lasts until the government reopens.
During the current federal government shutdown, AU Athletics has announced that throughout the month of January, all federal government workers may receive two free tickets to home athletic events at American University - including upcoming men's basketball, women's basketball and wrestling events in Bender Arena.
With a valid federal government ID, fans will receive free admission for themselves and a guest to support and cheer on the AU Eagles to victory.
Georgetown University's department of athletics is offering free tickets to upcoming men's and women's basketball games for federal employees during the current government shutdown.
