Faking The Grade: Superintendent’s investigators scrutinize school highlighted by I-Team
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
The ABC7 I-Team learned investigators with the Office of State Superintendent for Education (OSSE) were at Columbia Heights Education Campus (CHEC) this week. Teachers and administrators were questioned about grading and attendance practices, according to three sources familiar with the investigation wanting to remain anonymous.
This comes as the ABC7 I-Team reported on transcript and attendance records obtained from CHEC. The records show several students passed required courses despite being absent up to two-thirds of all school days without an excuse.
The Superintendent’s Office declined to comment. The first part of their investigation is due to be released next week.
