The two women accusing Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexual assault said Saturday they are willing to testify at an impeachment hearing.

Attorneys for Vanessa Tyson and Meredith Watson released separate statements saying the women would testify against Fairfax, who denies the accusations amid calls for his resignation.

Tyson, the first accuser and a California college professor, said Fairfax forced her to perform oral sex on him at a Boston hotel while at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Watson said in a statement that Fairfax raped her 19 years ago while they were students at Duke University.

Fairfax has denied the accusations, calling the encounters “consensual,” and rejected calls for his resignation. On Saturday, he called for authorities, including the FBI, to investigate the sexual assault allegations.

Del. Patrick Hope has said that he will introduce articles of impeachment against Fairfax when the general assembly convenes Monday.

Prior to the accusations, Fairfax looked poised to become Virginia’s next governor, succeeding fellow Gov. Ralph Northam who is also facing calls to resign after a racist photo surfaced in his 1984 medical yearbook.

Northam denies being one of the people in the photo that shows one person in blackface and another wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood, though he did admit to wearing blackface in a Michael Jackson dance contest.

Following the resurfacing of Northam’s racist yearbook photo, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring – the third in line behind Northam and Fairfax and another Democrat – admitted in a statement that he wore blackface as a 19-year-old at a college party in 1980.
