Sheriff's office: Loudoun Co. teacher arrested for inappropriate relationship with child
A Loudoun County Public Schools teacher was arrested Wednesday for her alleged role in what the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office called an inappropriate relationship with a child.
Lindsay R. Mages, 28, of Aldie, has been charged with participating in an inappropriate relationship with a child that “caused or created a mental injury.”
According to the sheriff’s office, Mages’ arrest came after she was found to be a person responsible for the victim’s care and created or inflicted, threatened to create or inflict, or allowed to be created or inflicted upon the child a physical or mental injury by other than accidental means.
Mages is accused of having a relationship with the student between Jan. 1 and Aug. 30 while she was a teacher at Discovery and Hillside elementary schools, both of which are in Ashburn. She was sometimes responsible for the student outside of school, the sheriff’s office said.
The relationship is described by the sheriff’s office as non-sexual.
Mages is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
