Man accused of making racial threats, brandishing gun outside Starbucks in Gaithersburg
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (ABC7) —
Police say a 60-year-old man is accused of making racial threats and pulling out a gun outside of a Starbucks in Gaithersburg.
ABC7 News spoke with Mark Kiriakou, the man accused in the incident.
The victim, who is Hispanic, opened his car door as Kiriakou was in his car backing out of a parking lot.
Kiriakou allegedly told the man that he "hated Mexicans," and added "I will kill you" and then lifted up his shirt and brandished a gun from his waistband.
The man went into a Starbucks to get help. Kiriakou tells ABC7 he's innocent.
