WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday evening in Northwest DC.
At approximately 6:21 p.m., authorities say that a shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Columbia Rd., NW; located in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. The victim, an adult male, was found unconscious and not breathing.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Dawud Debruhl of Northwest, DC.
Police are asking for the public to be on the lookout for a black male in a green sweater with black shoes.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
