Secret Service: Suspect on the loose after driving wrong way on I-66, causing crash
ARLINGTON COUNTY, Va. (ABC7) —
Secret Service is helping search for a suspect they say was driving the wrong way in D.C. before crashing into a car on Interstate 66 and fleeing the scene Sunday.
Authorities said the person was seen driving the wrong way on I Street, NW around 4:35 a.m,. and Secret Service chased them onto eastbound I-66 in Arlington County. The suspect crashed into another vehicle and then fled on foot.
A passenger in the suspect's car and the driver of the other vehicle were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Secret Service, Arlington County Police and Virginia State Police all responded to the scene of the crash. Arlington police are leading the investigation on the incident.
