It’s now known when D.C. United will play its first-ever game at Audi Field.

United will open its new stadium July 14 at 7 p.m. against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The date and venue for the game were revealed when MLS released the full 2018 regular-season schedule Thursday.

Audi Field, a 20,000-seat stadium, is currently under construction at Buzzard Point in Southwest D.C. It’s located across the street from Fort McNair and two blocks away from Nationals Park.

Last month, it was announced that United’s first home game of the season will be played March 17 against the Houston Dynamo. That game, along with an April 14 home match against the Columbus Crew, will be played at a different venue as Audi Field will still be under construction.

According to the Washington Post, Maryland SoccerPlex in Montgomery County and Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis are the likely venues for those two games.

RFK Stadium served as United’s home venue for the last 22 years since the team’s debut season in 1996.

United’s home schedule will be predominately backloaded for the season half of the season as the club awaits the completion of Audi Field. For instance, United will play seven straight games at home between Sept. 12 and Oct. 21.

United’s season opener will be March 3 at Orlando City.
