Falls Church running back Dekwandre Marshall rushes for 2,000 yards this season
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7) —
Soft spoken off the field, but Falls Church running back Dekwandre Marshall is making noise on it.
"I felt like my vision got better and my speed increased too," said Marshall, a senior at Falls Church High School.
Last week, Dekwandre reached a special milestone when he rushed for 2,000 yards this season.
"It means a lot because that was my goal last year, but we didn't hit it," Marshall said.
It hasn't always been easy for this Falls Church team as the Jaguars started the season 0-4. That's when the coaching staff knew it had to go back to the drawing board.
"We were like, 'Hey, we have this running back, he's pretty good we got to give him the ball more.' Once we started doing that, we started playing more as a team," Falls Church coach Said Aziz said.
Dekwandre's success on the football field won't end at Falls Church, either, as next year he will play at Morgan State on a full scholarship.
Another personal goal achieved in his young career.
