Caps' potential Stanley Cup-clinching win falls on day Bullets won NBA title 40 years ago
WASHINGTON (WJLA) —
The Capitals are on the cusp of winning their first Stanley Cup championship with a win in Game 5 Thursday night.
That possible feat would happen on the same day the Washington Bullets won their first NBA championship on June 7, 1978.
The Caps took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a dominating 6-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights Monday night in Game 4.
Game 5 is in Las Vegas as the Caps look to close out the Golden Knights in their house to hoist the Stanley Cup trophy.
