Molly Cochran’s passion for weather started at a young age after she and her family rode out Hurricane Charley in Myrtle Beach, SC. After the storm, she knew she wanted to make weather forecasting her career.
Molly grew up in Pittsburgh PA, and has visited the Washington D.C. area for many years with family and friends. She fell in love with the area after touring the White House and visiting the Spy Museum.
One of Molly’s favorite things about D.C. is the variety of weather the city can receive-- ranging from blizzard conditions to severe storms and heat.
Molly began her career as an on-air broadcaster at AccuWeather, where she had the opportunity to anchor live weather updates for ABC World News Now, Bloomberg Business, Big Ten Network, and FOX News.
Molly graduated from Penn State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. She also has completed her master’s degree in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
In her free time, Molly likes to swim, drive her family’s jet ski, and travel. One of her favorite places is Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland.
As a new resident to the D.C. area, Molly hopes to get to know Washington even better and explore more of the city's historic museums.
